In fact, there are many deficiencies in pneumatic conveying equipment.
Pneumatic conveying equipment belongs to dense-phase medium-pressure pneumatic conveying, which is suitable for conveying materials that are not easily broken by particles and powder pneumatic conveying. Used in foundry, chemical, and grain industries. It forms a sealed conveying system with conveying pipes, spherical tees, superchargers, pressurized elbows, etc. It can be equipped with an automatic control electronic control system to achieve unmanned control of the entire system and cooperate with PLC automatic control.
The traditional mechanical conveying process, that is, the grain in-and-out silo conveying process, which is a combination of conveying equipment such as bucket elevators and belt conveyors, has many deficiencies:
(1) Traditional conveying machinery and equipment are large in size, and steel-frame platforms and corridors need to be built. The flow of materials into and out of the equipment depends on the self-flow of the slide pipe, and the slide pipe needs some angles. These factors require large building areas and spaces. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the investment in the construction part.
(2) The traditional conveying machinery and equipment have strong dust-lifting ability and high chance of dust explosion. The main bucket elevators, dust explosion-prone conveying equipment, and perfect ventilation and dust removal systems and explosion-proof facilities will increase equipment investment.
(3) The traditional conveying machinery and equipment have many dead corners, and the residual grain is prone to mold and worms, which has become a hidden danger of grain storage in the warehouse, and it is also an enemy of modern grain storage and transportation.
(4) For a grain bin with a long storage period, it means that the ingress and egress silo conveying equipment will be left unused for a long period of time, while the traditional mechanical conveyance has many ingress and egress silos with a large number of process equipment and running parts, which requires a large amount of maintenance work during operation, and therefore high maintenance costs.
The shortcomings of the above traditional mechanical conveying methods are just that the pneumatic conveying methods can make up for this, which is why the pneumatic conveying equipment exists and is applied.
